We both loved quilting. I would take every class I could go to. I assisted her in her classes when she came here to Vermont. I always wanted to do a red rose. She said that it could not be done because when you lighten red the colors became pink. I kept asking in different classes. She finally said let me think about working with red colors. She came to me and said try red fabrics with different amounts of white and black in the print. That was it. We were finally able to get red roses. I was so excited that while others went to lunch I used the same idea to create a white rose. I would call from time to time to see how she was doing. It was always so great to see her in another class with new patterns. I have appliqued many of her patterns and have many that I still have not done. I miss you Nancy and think of you often. I have just heard of Nancy's passing. Like so many other quilters I was a devoted fan. She is missed. We had wonderful times together. She was a blessing to me at a difficult time in my life. Barbara Pearson

I was sorry to learn of Nancy's death. I think of her often when I see or hear about quilts! I know Mary was waiting for her at Heaven's Gates! The Pearson family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear John, Jeff and Dan,
There are so many happy memories I have of your mom, her
involvement with the Scouts, her wonderful artwork, everything she touched was magical. Your mom showed me how to tell if a quilt was over a 100 yrs. old and she tried to teach how to quilt! We were Keeney Street neighbors for many, many wonderful years. Drinking tea in the kitchen, sharing our thoughts. I can't tell you how much I miss her in so many ways. Your mom was so unique, so delightful and will always be in my heart.

Dear Pearson Family,
We are so sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. Both she and Ken were nice people to be neighbors to! Waving at each other, most mornings, while having coffee on their porch - we seemed to wave more than we spoke. And we usually managed to get into our cars and back out of our driveways at the same time. This happened more often than not! Seeing Nancy, and her smiling face, at the polls, was time for catching up on family news. She has been missed.

Condolences from the Kawell Family. We always appreciated Nancy's good spirits and creativity. Nancy and Ken were an essential part of the "Dinner Club" our parents, Rose and Len, belonged to. One of Nancy's paintings, a still life, hung over our kitchen table in Northbrook and Mom and Dad took it with them to every new place they lived. Nancy will be missed. -Rose, JoAnn, Len, Steve, Carol, Mary and Greg Kawell

Mrs. Pearson was a kind, smart, funny and talented person. She was an artist, renowned for her quilting. She was mom to my high school buddy Dan. She and I were Irish and she would send me care packages while I was away at college for St. Patrick's Day!
I knew her 42 years as Dan and I stayed close friends and took our families camping - an annual ritual Nancy and Ken started and one we all have come to love.
I will miss her smiling face and caring nature.
May God grant her, and her late husband Ken, eternal peace and bring comfort to her family and friends.
