Henry Klein lived behind our house in Skokie. He was also my Combined Studies teacher at ETHS. Henry Klein was one of the best and most memorable teachers I've had. Years later I would see him in the choir at Beth Emet and he'd give me that special smile he had. I ran into another student back in 1993 who had been in his class with me. We got up our nerve, and made a date to take him out to dinner in Wilmette. That was one of the most enjoyable evenings I remember. I realized from that evening, what a delightful, fun person he was, in addition to being a teacher. I am sorry for your loss, and wish he could be here to attend our 50th class reunion.

Mr. Klein was my history teacher at ETHS in the late 60s or early 70s. I do remember that twinkle in his eye that is mentioned here. We were just kids, and that twinkle made this kid feel so comfortable. He was such a warm, constant in my life. I'll never forget him.

I was a student in Henry Klein's AP US History class in 1981-1982. He was a wonderful teacher with a deep love of American culture and politics. I now teach history at Scarsdale High School and I often think about how important Mr. Klein was in me becoming a teacher. May his memory aways be a blessing.

Henry was a dear man and a wonderful colleague. He was also just a little naughty and that is what gave him that twinkle in his eye. He once shared a classroom with me and although we were able to chat every day, it was miserable for both of us! We laughed about that years later. When I adopted my children, he shared his story, which made him even dearer to me. I am so sorry for your loss. He meant so much to so many.
