Donald Burnside Obituary

Donald ''Don'' Burnside, age 75, of Three Lakes, WI, died at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003. Don was a longtime summer resident of Three Lakes, WI from Downers Grove, IL. He moved to Three Lakes permanently in 1974. He was an active member of the Three Lakes Lions Club, the American Legion and the Three Lakes Rod & Gun Club. He was also a member of the Union Congregational Church UCC of Three Lakes, WI. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Don is survived by his wife of 55 years, Markie, nee Nordell, Burnside of Three Lakes, WI; daughters, Terry (Jim) Moore of Alpharetta, GA and Susan (Bob) Barbera of Green Bay, WI; son, D. Phillip (Bernadette) Burnside of Sussex, WI; his brother, Pete (Suzette) Burnside of Wilmette, IL; and grandchildren, Piper, Christopher, Robin, Helen, Claire and Jeff. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Three Lakes, WI. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2003 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials to the Don Burnside Recreational Park Children's Playground are appreciated by the family. Arrangements by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River, WI.

Dearest Markie,

Bill and I are so sorry for the loss of your dearest Don. We will always remember you both from the earliest days of Terry marrying Jim & Thanksgiving Dinners with all of us on your visits south. We will always be here for Terry and your precious grandchildren we share. Love always, Anita Moore
