I met Tina when she was a volunteer at a shelter for Chicago's homeless population, in Lincoln Park, that I directed in the 1980s. Tina wrote a lovely article about me and the shelter for a neighborhood paper. We bonded over her's and my family's origins in Chicago's "Little Italy" neighborhood. I remember Tina as a compassionate and loving member of our volunteer staff. My condolences to her family. She touched the lives of many.

I remember Tina as a young, 22 year old and recent graduate of Mundelein College. She was a beautiful, bright and sensitive young woman who expressed a great deal of joy about the world around her.

I will miss you Tina.

Tina De Rosa was a brilliant writer and a richly complicated individual. I am grateful she was part of my life and appreciative of the tremendous impact she had on my work. Italian American women's literature has forever been affected by her novel.

Words will never convey the impact that Tina had on my life. I loved her dearly. And while we fought like crazy sometimes, we loved like brother and sister through it all.

I was a classmate of Tina's at St. Mary Hight School. I was very excited for the second publishing of "Paper Fish" and joined her for as many of her book readings as I could make.
