CORINTH – George Lawrence Jackson, 74, died Aug. 31, 2015, at his home in Corinth. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow in Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday, Sept. 3, at Magnolia Funeral Home.

Jackson, Glenna - Booneville  
BOONEVILLE – Glenna Faye Jackson, 78, passed away at her home in Booneville, Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015. She was born Aug. 21, 1937, to John Thomas and Rilla Murphy Henderson, in Booneville. She loved working in her own clothing store that she had in Booneville for 30 years. Glenna was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her children and grandchildren. She also had a passion for basketball and watching her favorite NBA players, Lebron James, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird. Services will be at 3 p.m. today, Aug. 28, 2015, at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Wayne Smith conducting. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Elana Garvin (Rick) of Pensacola, Fla., Lorie Trimble (Joey), Karla Shumpert (Archie), Keith Jackson, Kerry Jackson and daughter-in-law, Sherry Henderson, all of Booneville; her grandchildren, Justin Garvin and Jessica Garvin, Anna Henderson, Emma Henderson, Molly Trimble, Maggie Trimble, Kyle Jackson, Krystal Jackson, Koie Jackson, KJ Jackson, Kyson Jackson, Chelsie Gardner, Khyla Shumpert, Kaz Shumpert, Kade Shumpert, Kobe Shumpert, Kody Jackson and Kerstein Jackson; and three great-grandchildren, Knox Jackson, Kenzlie Jackson and Jaxson McKinney; one sister, Lydia Smith; a host of nieces and nephews; a special sister-in-law; and many other special people who helped take care of her until she departed to her eternal home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Jackson; her parents; two sons, Kevin Henderson and Kirby Jackson; brother, Austin Henderson; sisters, Ceola Saylors, Lula Mae Hutchens and Edith (Mama E) Johnson. Pallbearers will be Justin Garvin, Kyson Jackson, Kaz Shumpert, Kody Jackson, Koie Jackson and Kade Shumpert. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kobe Shumpert, Jaxson McKinney and Knox Jackson. Jaggers, Marvin - Pontotoc  
PONTOTOC – Marvin Autry Jaggers, 79, passed away at the VA Hospital in Oxford on August 28, 2015. He was born on August 29, 1936, to Beachum Moore and Hester Washington Jaggers. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He served four years aboard the U.S.S. Manchester in the United States Navy servicing in the Far East, Korean War, Japan and China. He is a lifetime member of the VFW in Tupelo and American Legion. He is a family of five generations. Service will be at 2 p.m. September 1, 2015, at Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. Westmoreland and Bro. Greg Herndon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Cemetery. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jaggers; two sons, Barry Jaggers (Anita) and Jeff Jaggers; one daughter, Cristi Simmons (Eddie); three grandchildren, Molly Jaggers Edwards, Cole and Brittni Jaggers; three great-grandchildren, Ivy Edwards, Hunter Brannigan and Jaggers Edwards; and one sister, Martha Faye Huey. He is preceded in death by his parents, Beachum Moore and Hester Adeline Jaggers; two brothers, Palmer Jaggers and Delmer Jaggers; and one sister, Lazette Jaggers Livington. Johnson, Bobby - Wheeler  
WHEELER – Bobby Johnson, 74, died Friday August 28, 2015, at his home. He was a member of Wheeler United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the National Guard and a Mason. He was a Liberty National insurance agent for 23 yrs. He retired from FMC after nine years. He loved Wheeler basketball, raising horses and spending time with his grandchildren. Services will be 4 p.m. today, August 30, 2015, at Wheeler United Methodist Church with Bro. Tim Green and Bro. Ricky Bishop officating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Kesler Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Betty Johnson of Wheeler; three daughters, Carol Barnes (Rusty) of Brandon, Pam Stroupe (Billy) of Booneville, and Paula Hughes (Chris) of Madison; his mother, Charlene Johnson of Booneville; one sister, Pat Gray (Gerald) of Booneville; six grandchildren, Merrie Claire Barnes, Jonie Green, John Christopher Hughes, Preston Stroupe, Annelise Barnes and Brewer Hughes. He was preceded in death by his father, Harlon Johnson; and one brother, Carl Johnson. Pallbearers are Pete Lindsey, Adam Lindsey. Steve Lindsey, David Wheatley, Brewer Hughes, and John Christopher Hughes. Visitation will continue from 2 p.m. until service time today at the church.

Johnson, JD - Tupelo  
TUPELO – The Rev. J.D. Johnson, 92, died peacefully at his home, Monday, Aug. 24, 2015. Born in Carbon Hill, Alabama on Dec. 24, 1922, to the Rev. and Mrs. Ira Estes Johnson, J.D. enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1939 at the age of 17. He was stationed in Iceland for most of his enlistment and was honorably discharged in 1945 with the rank of Tech Sergeant. J.D. married the love of his life, Bonnie Young, on January 5, 1946. They moved to Zion, Illinois, where J.D. worked for American Motors. He continued his employment as a pipefitter working on construction jobs of paper mills and nuclear plants, retiring at age 76. J.D. and Bonnie were active members of First Baptist Church in Zion, Illinois. It was here J.D. answered the call to the gospel ministry at age 37. He completed his high school requirements and then he enrolled at Mississippi College in Clinton. After completing his first year, he began ministry, preaching to churches in the Delta and southern Mississippi. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies in 1963. J.D. furthered his studies at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Master's of Theology degree and a Master's of Ministry degree. He and Bonnie served churches in Alabama, Georgia, Ohio and Mississippi. J.D. pastored Barnes Crossing Baptist Church, a mission of First Baptist Tupelo, where he led the church to be constituted on July 15, 2001. Bro. Johnson was a studious man, an avid reader and a great man of God. He valued education and mentored and encouraged many young people especially those choosing careers in Christian service. A patriotic American, he was a longtime member of the American Legion and a former Commander of the Fulton post. At his death, he was a faithful and engaged member of the First Baptist Church of Tupelo. A service celebrating his life will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Rick Young, Bro. Henry Jenkins and his special friend, Bro. Dave Jensen officiating. Burial, at a later date, will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens in Fulton. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until service time Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel. The service may be viewed via livestreaming at hollandfuneraldirectors.com. J.D. is survived by his wife of 69 years, Bonnie Young Johnson of Tupelo; his daughters, Diane (Clifford) Allen of Newton, Ga. and Dawn Johnson of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Pricilla (Bo) Tucker, Melissa Keesler, Nici (Doug) McCallum, First Sgt. U.S. Marine Corp James (Amanda) Aultman and Alice Johnson; and his great-grandchildren, Aleyah, Lane, Jack, Shelbe, Wailan, Emaree, Sierra, Gabriele and Joshua. J.D. was preceded in death by his daughter, Jerri Johnson Bates; and his son, Jay Randall ""Skip"" Johnson.
