Parker, Minnie Lee - Columbus  
COLUMBUS – Minnie Lee Parker, 95, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle, Columbus. Visitation will be Monday, March 23, 2015, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. with Bro. Steve Lammons officiating. Interment will be in Beersheba Cemetery, Columbus with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Parker was born June 13, 1919, in Mashulaville to the late Benjamin Franklin and Lena Dawkins Perrigen. She retired in 1981 from Seminole Manufacturing where she worked for 42 years as a seamstress. Mrs. Parker was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Columbus. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Parker; brothers, Harvell and Eddie Perrigen; and sisters, Maggie Blackston, Lillie Mae Peeks and Grace Garner. Mrs. Parker is survived by her sons, James (Allie Mae) Parker, Corinth and Bobby Parker, Columbus; grandchildren, Greg Parker, Michael Parker, Ty Huffman and Kimberly Parker White; great-grandchildren, Kara, Jordan, Joel, Jon Michael, Tanner, Addy, Jacob, Neal and Colby; and one great-grandchild, Hayes. Pallbearers will be Greg Parker, Mike Parker, Ty Huffman, Jon Michael Parker, Jordan Parker, Tanner Parker, Colby White, Neal White and Joel Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Doyle Sumrall, Dr. Michael Duckworth, Dr. Matthew Wade, Dr. Robinson, Dr. Martin, Dr. Manning, Third Floor Nurses at BMH-GT and Clark Richardson. Memorials may be made to Trinity Retirement, 300 Airline Road, Columbus, MS 39702.

Parker, Nellie Janie - Vardaman  
VARDAMAN – Nellie Janie Sims Parker, 78, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at her home. She was born July 19, 1936, in Calhoun County. She was the daughter of James E. Sims and Luberta Miller Sims. She was a homemaker and a member of Vardaman First Baptist Church. Funeral service will be today, March 26, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City with Bro. Fred Hartley officiating. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Calhoun City. Pryor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Randall Wright, Wayne Mayhan, Buddy Collins, Brian Maddex, Joey Collins and James Edward Mayhan. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Steve) Sutherland, and her son, Thomas Roy Parker, all of Vardaman; two sisters, Janet (Luke) Mayhan, Houlka, and Juanita Collins, Bruce; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Parks, Mack - Tupelo  
TUPELO – Mack Parks, 86, died Thursday, March 12, 2015, at his home. He was born to the late Rob and Cederia Parks on May 23, 1928, in Wren County. He professed his faith in Christ at Union Grove U.M. Church in Wren and then united with Hopewell Belden. He later joined Temple of Compassion and Deliverance under his son Bishop C.L. Parks and remained until his death. He served as Chairman of the Father Board and on the deacon board. He leaves to cherish his love. his wife of 70 years, Eugenia Walton-Parks; four daughters, Velma Jean Parks of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Margaret Lagrone of Houston, Texas, Linda Coppage and Cafreida (John) Barnes, both of Tupelo; and three sons, Bishop C.L.(Mary) Parks, Tyrone Parks and Johnny (Freeda) Young, all of Tupelo; three Godchildren, Kennedy Reed, Shaquille Riley and Zoe Shumpert; two special nieces, Mae Frances Vance and Mimmie Hamilton; two special nephews, James Parks and Johnny Vance; a special brother-in-law, Johnnie Walton; his caregiver; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family members.

Pettit, Bro. Edward - Bruce, Mississippi  
BRUCE – Bro. Edward J. Pettit, 86, of Bruce, Mississippi died on Friday, March 20, 2015, at Bruce Community Living Center in Bruce, Mississippi. Born Sunday, August 5, 1928, in Elzey, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Hosea Pettit and the late Annice Moore Pettit. He was the husband of the late Josephine Pettit. He was retired from Brookwood Furniture. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and also served as a Baptist Minister for 53 years in Calhoun, Chickasaw, and Pontotoc counties. Surviving are son, Philip (Virginia) Pettit of Bruce; daughters, Brenda (Larry) Snellings of Bruce, Jane (Mark) Johnson of Conway, Ark. and Teresa (Quintin) Mayhan of Bruce; grandchildren, Christi Galloway, Shawn Snellings, Brad Pettit, Michelle Dugard, Trent Snellings, Brent Snellings, Eric White, Jaret Prestage, Casey Prestage, Ashley Tutor, Kirsten Mayhan, Tiffany Lafferty, Carrin Johnson, and Malia Jones; 25 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Hudson of Louisville. He was predeceased by brother, W.J. Pettit; sisters, Virgina Pettit, Loretta Skyles, and Inez Collins. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. today at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Don R. Vaughan and Bro. Ed Easley officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Bruce. Pallbearers will be Brad Pettit, Casey Prestage, Jaret Prestage, Brent Snellings, Shawn Snellings, Trent Snellings, and Brennan Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Cook, D.J.
