Billingsley, L.Q. - Pontotoc  
PONTOTOC – L. Q. Billingsley, 84, died Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the Union County Health & Rebab Center in New Albany. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing dominos, squirrel hunting and trapping. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Bro. David Barnett and Bro. David Westmoreland officating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Kesler Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include a daughter, Reva Wray (Randle) of Pontotoc; a brother, Billy Billingsley of Oxford; two grandchildren, Kimberly Mallard (Ashley)of Florida and James Wray (April) of Pontotoc; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carrdine and Charles Billingsley; and one sister, Francis Horton. Pallbearers will be Walter Boling, Sammy Coffey, Leighton Sappington, Chuck Bunn, James Wray and Stacy Horton. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 today at the church.

Blackwell, Willie Floyd - New Albany  
NEW ALBANY – Willie Floyd Blackwell, 61, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at his home. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Non-Denominational Church, Bratton Road, in New Albany. Body will be placed in the church at noon. Visitation will be 1 until 7 p.m. today at Serenity-Simmons Chapel in New Albany.

Blair, Dr. Willie C. - Washington, D.C.  
WASHINGTON D.C. – Dr. Willie Clifton Blair, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015, at Washington Home & Community Hospice Division in Washington D.C. He was born on Nov. 12, 1946, in Amory to the Late Jeanette and James Blair Sr. He was a graduate of West Amory High School, Mississippi Valley State University, Rush and Georgetown University Medical Schools. He was one of the renown top surgeons in the United States. He leaves to cherish, a lovely daughter, Amelia Nicole, and a son, Clifton Chanceller Blair, of Ft. Washington, Md.; four brothers, James Jr. of Grand Rapids, Lancaster of D.C., West of Tupelo and Michael of Amory; three sisters, Annette of Grand Rapids, Amenia ""Doc"" Bogan and Lillie Mae (Shedrick) Burns, both of Amory; a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Bessie Jean Nichols Blair. Visitation, viewing, words of expression and condolences to the family will be one hour from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Darden & Sons Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery. Services were held Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Carolina M.B. Church in Ft. Washington, Md. Bogan, Ann Britt - Pontotoc  
PONTOTOC – Betty Ann Britt Bogan, 47, passed away March 1, 2015, at home. She graduated from South Pontotoc High School. She was an avid softball player and was the first girl to make the South Pontotoc baseball team. She enjoyed watching her grandson play t-ball and soccer. She enjoyed all outdoor activities and spending time with her grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. today, March 3, 2015, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Bro. Wayne Cox, Bro. Rob Grant and Bro. Ricky Bogan will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Forest Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors: husband, Dexter Bogan; three children, Lakyn Clowers, Erica Britt and Doyce Britt; three grandchildren, Kyelon Clowers, Lylee Clowers and Meagan L. Britt; mother, Betty Jo Staten; brother, Larry Dean Staten (Joyce); niece, Daphne Staten. She was preceded in death by: father, Wayne Staten; brothers, David Staten and Stanley Staten; daughter, Meagan Britt; grandson, Christian Hurd; first husband-Larry Britt. Pallbearers: Guyson Ward, Shannon Ward, Billy Kidd, Jackie Kidd, Clay Paisley, Delain Rockett and Austin Jumper. Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. today, March 3, 2015.

Brown, Marie Iverson - Tupelo  
TUPELO – Marie Iverson Brown fell asleep in Christ on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. She was born May 10, 1927, to Noonan Z. Riley and Winnie Sheffield Riley of Dorsey. Marie graduated salutatorian from Mooreville High School. She married Iver Lee ""Mike"" Iverson on August 4, 1946, and soon started a family. She worked for a few years at the old downtown Sears building as a telephone sales person, but for most of her life, walked along side her husband, Mike, and later her husband, James R. Brown. Marie raised her children at Harrisburg Baptist Church on West Main Street, where she made many happy memories. She and Mike moved to Texarkana, Texas, and then Lubbock, Texas, investing in Hancock Fabric stores. When they moved back to Tupelo, they joined West Jackson Street Baptist Church, where her children were attending. She taught a ladies Sunday school class and prepared luncheons for the older women of the church. For the past 20 years, Marie has participated in a small home church pastored by Sonny and Linda Smith. Marie was known by her family and others in the Body of Christ for her spiritual gift of giving. She was a woman of abiding faith and always encouraged others when their faith was being tried. She loved reading, especially the Christian classics. She dearly loved her grandchildren and adored playing with her great-grandchildren. Marie is survived by her children, Sandra Tigrett, Jerry Iverson (Sonja) and Denise Alderman (Bob); her grandchildren, Hugh D. ""Kip"" Tigrett III (Nicole), Kevin Tigrett, Chad Iverson (Lesley), Brooke Iverson and Joyce Marie Coward (John); her great-grandchildren, Harrison, Hugh Porter and Hudson Tigrett, Dalton Tigrett, Franklin, Jack and Cooper Coward, Tripp and Cora Iverson; her sister, Joan Cotham (Lou); many nieces and nephews. Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Mike Iverson; her husband of one year, James R. Brown; her parents, N.Z. and Winnie Riley; four sisters, Reba Riley, Evie Hodges (Tyson) and their son, Joe Hodges, Ina Duncan (Charles) and their son, Mickey, and Thelma Shumpert (Billy); five brothers, Ernest Riley (Clara) and their children, Ray and Jane, Lawrence Riley (Zora) and their son, Butch, Wade Riley (Jewel), Leon Riley and Carl Riley, who died in World War II. Pallbearers will be Bill Shumpert, Bob Shumpert, Kip Tigrett, Kevin Tigrett, Chad Iverson, Kirk Cotham, John Coward and Craig Cotham. The funeral will be held at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Sonny Smith officiating. Private burial will follow in Dorsey Memorial Cemetery. Browning, Catherine - New Albany  
NEW ALBANY – Catherine Hudson Browning, 84, died Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Magnolia Place in New Albany. She was born December 24, 1930, in Union County to the late William Louis and Laura Corrine Gaines Hudson. She was a retired dental assistant for Dr. W.T. Beavers. She was a charter member of Junior Auxiliary and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2015, at Calvary United Methodist Church with Bro. Greg Forbus and Bro. Barry Male officiating. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements. She is survived by a daughter, Tana Ranager (Ken) and a son, Brian Browning, both of New Albany; and four grandchildren, Thomas Collier Ranager, Catherine McKinley Ranager, Cecil Hudson Ranager and Laura Preston Ranager. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene Browning; and a daughter, Pamela Vivian Browning. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Grace Sunday School Class of Calvary United Methodist Church. The family requests that memorials be made to Gideons International, P.O.
