Sammy E. Bledsoe(1939 - 2014)

POTTS CAMP – Sammy E. Bledsoe, 75, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Corinth. He was born Feb. 22, 1939, to L.R. and Hazel Wilkes Bledsoe. He was a Catholic and a Mason, and he worked as a security guard. He was a decorated Navy veteran of the Korea War, where he received the silver star with valor and two purple hearts.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, at Lowry Methodist Church with Bro. Kenneth Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Methodist Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Sue Hodges Bledsoe of Potts Camp; two daughters, Tammy Matheny (Jack) of Gallaway, Tenn. and Lauralic Imel (Mark) of Kansas; one son, Richard Pope (Teresa) of Texas; two sisters, Barbara Meagher of Missouri and Bonnie Lambert of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wesley, Wayne and Jesse Lambert, Richard Pope, Bobby Bledsoe and Mark Freeles.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today and continue until service time Wednesday at the church.
