ASHLAND – Virginia Ann Houston Rogers, 88, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Darlington Oaks in Verona. She was born July 25, 1925, to Joe and Effie Wilkerson Houston in Benton County. She was retired from ABC Manufacturing Company with 35 years of service. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Ashland.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley. Bro. Tommy Wilder will officiate, and Ginny Hannah will present remembrances. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Benton County. McBride Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Arnold (Gerald) of Atoka, Tenn.; two sons, Don Rogers (Pam) of Hickory Flat and Danny Rogers (Ruth) of Ashland; two sisters, Sybil Taylor of Byhalia and Louise Voigtlander of Wisconsin; one brother, James Houston (Leatha) of Nesbit; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell Rogers; her parents; one sister; four brothers; and one granddaughter, Alyssa Nichole Rogers.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 7 a.m. to service time Wednesday.
