1948 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
NEW ALBANY – Joyce Ann Alexander Cook, 65, died Thursday, May 1, 2014, at her residence. She was born Aug. 30, 1948, in New Albany to Hubert M.C. Alexander and Daisy Mae Crumpton. She was raised by her late maternal grandparents, Irvin and Minnie Little. She was a retail worker. He enjoyed her family and friends, and especially spending time with her granddaughter, Savanna, and babysitting her great nieces, Rivers and Willa Kate Ashley. She was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Mike Johnson and his son, the Rev. Chip Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Vista Memorial Park. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Daisy Leanne Cook of Baton Rouge, La.; her granddaughter, who was her pride and joy, Savanna Carson Cook of Baton Rouge, La.; four sisters, Betty Williamson (Edgar) of New Albany, Carol Dozier (Steve) of Haleyville, Ala., Linda Baumgartner of Guin, Ala., and Janie Dixon (Gary) of Amory; and a brother, Curtis Crumpton (Mary Ellen) of Winfield, Ala.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Miller.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Ashley, Brad Heard, Kyle Heard, Joe McDonald, Hunter Williamson and Curtis Crumpton.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
