1940 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
FULTON – Neil S. Brown Sr., 73, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born in Sikeston, Mo., on May 19, 1940, to J.M. Brown Jr. and Juanita Weaver Brown. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and in the National Guard as a tank commander, Military Police, and squad leader in infantry. He served in Germany during the Cold War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing dominoes with his buddies, and watching westerns.
Services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton. Bro. Jimmy Dale Sartin will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Corinth National Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Clay (Susie) Brown, Alan Brown and Neil Brown Jr., all of Fulton; daughter, Mary Beth Brown of Byhalia; two brothers, Billy (Suzanne) Brown of Fulton and Jimmy (Sherry) Brown of Hamilton, Ala.; sister, Karen (Gary) Loague of Fulton; three granddughters, Brittany Brown of Fulton, Alexia Brown of Fulton and Kelly Brown; grandson, Tyler Brown; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Billy (Wiley) Wiygul of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.M. Brown Jr., and his mother, Juanita Brown.
Pallbearers will be Eric Holland, Jim Holland, Matt Bennett, Richie Robinson, Harris Brown, Doug Horn and Joey Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be the Domino Club.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
