BLUE SPRINGS – Therrel M. ""Bozy"" Porch passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo at the age of 78. He was born on July 24, 1935, in Pontotoc County to Tom and Lois McCharen Porch. As a 1954 graduate of New Albany High School, Bozy played football. After high school, he joined the Army National Guard and was stationed in Washington, D.C.
On Sept. 6, 1956, he married the love of his life, Sarah Kathryn Hall, and they remained happily married for 43 years. Bozy retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation to care for his beautiful wife when her health failed and made her last days on earth as happy and pleasant as possible. He was a fun-loving character that impacted many lives and everyone that knew him has fond memories and vivid stories.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Mike Powell and the Rev. Josh Blythe officiating. Burial will be in the Vista Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Bozy is survived by his daughter, Belvia Porch Giachelli (Greg); two sons, Mack Porch (Regina) and Joe Porch (Michelle), all of Blue Springs; a sister, Betty Joyce Bailey of New Albany, a sister-in-law, Ottris Hall of Brandon; and six grandchildren, Priscilla Giachelli Drye (Greg) of Starkville, Maury Giachelli (Anna) of Tupelo and Keegan Porch (Charlie), Chase Porch (Jordan), Dan Porch and Olivia Porch, all of Blue Springs. He is also survived by his very close friends, Jill Duggar Whitten and Gary Adams of Blue Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pappaw Candy will be missed dearly by his beloved great-grandchildren, Ainsley, Kyla, Easton and Stella Jo Porch of Blue Springs, Dylan Drye of Starkville and Hayes Giachelli of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Tommie Lou Hobson; three brothers-in-law, Don Hall, Don Hobson and Bill Bailey; and a very special friend, Betty Turner.
Pallbearers are his nephews, Billy Bailey, Steve Bailey, Jay Bailey, Blake Hobson, Brent Hobson, Keith Hall and Ken Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Roberts, Chuck Dill, Bryan Dill, Terry Duggar and Mike Robison.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014, from 5 until 8 p.m. and Thursday, May 1, 2014, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In honor of Mr. Porch, United Funeral Service Inc. will fly the flag of the U.S. Army at the funeral home during visitation and service.
