ALAN STEPHEN METROKA Alan Stephen Metroka, 80, of Magalia, passed away May 10, 2014. Alan, son of John and Mary Metroka, husband of Christina Metroka, passed away at the Paradise Hospice House after a short illness. Alan worked as a Purchasing Agent until his retirement in 1996. He graduated from Kingston High School in Kingston, PA in 1953 and atttended Butte Community College from 1973-75. Alan served in the United States Army from 1956-59. He was a loving husband and devoted father and will be greatly missed. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed reading, card games and travel. Alan was a member of the Paradise BPOE
Elks and the Table Mountain Lodge No. 124 F & AM. He also volunteered as an usher at the Paradise Performing Arts Center and served on it's board of directors for more than five years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Christina, and their children, James Metroka (Kathy) of Paradise, Anne Bond of Northglenn, CO, Lisa Lam (Randy) of Oroville, Sean Metroka (Margaret) of Nevada City, Mary Zinkgraf of Springfield, OR, brother Daniel Metroka (Rochelle) of Westfield, NJ, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Alan is preceded in death by his parents John and Mary, brother Paul, and grandson Joshua Rawlings. At his request, no service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J.
