EDWARD CLARENCE "DUKE" HOTTELL

EDWARD "DUKE" CLARENCE HOTTELL Edward "Duke" Hottell, 76, passed away on Oct. 25, 2012 in Oroville. He was born to Dean and Margaret Hottell on April 16, 1936 in Sumas, Washington. For three years he served in the Marine Corps and was a minor league pitcher for the Philadelphia Philly's. An accomplishment he was proud of was completing in the 100 mile Tevis Cup endurance horse race. For 30 years he was a beloved teacher and coach for Oroville Union High School and for eight years he served on the school board. He taught motorcycle safety and worked for the Forest Service. He was also a counselor in the Bishopric for the third Ward of the LDS church. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and with his family he liked to ride motorcycles, fish and hunt. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marian Hottell; children, Kari D'Andrea, Kirk Hottell and Kendall Larsen (Elsa); son, Gary Larsen; grandchildren, Meghan Hansen (Brooks), Shannon Hunter (Beau), Terra Larsen, Lucas Larsen, Marcus Larsen, Nicholas Larsen, Ashley Hottell, Holly Hottell and Jake Hottell; brother, Dean Hottell, sister, Betty Schreiber (Mike); and great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Russell Larsen A visitation will be held at Scheer Memorial Chapel on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral will be held at the Monte Vista Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
