The first time saw I Henry, he was walking through the home of Carl and Lois Hein to tend to their garden in the back. He had quietly taken on that task in a difficult time of life for them. Later, at the Prime Timers Program, I found that encounters with that 'mysterious'man was a 'happening' for anyone around him because of his intelligence and wit. We will miss Henry Pratt.

I am very saddened to hear about Henry's passing. Henry contributed much to our Chico community. Among other things, he was active in the Human Relations Network of Butte County, and he often came to the Chico Havurah services. I first met Henry at the Unitarians, when I moved to Chico 13 years ago. He would often drive me there, since the buses don't run on Sundays and I didn't have a car. He was a really nice person!

Great memories of Henry. I am so thankful for the dedication of Henry to Bandag. There has never been and will never be a sales force in the commercial tire business that compares to the one Henry and Dick Johnson spent time developing. I can look back on my time in this business and owe so much to Henry. He was selfless and spent countless hours on the road helping others. I am not surprised to see how Henry spent his time in his latter years. He was a true servant.

Our family will remember Henry as a great companion to our mother, Heather Nelson. As such, Henry and Heather lived and laughed and traveled through life together for many years. Henry and Heather visited our home twice on the the Big Island in Hawaii and came to see us in Alameda, CA, as well. They traveled to Elderhostels, up and down California coast, several times to the family home in Gloucester, Massachusetts, to Hilo, Hawaii and more to spend time with family and friends. Their lifestyle in Chico reflected their mutual concerns about social issues and they worked together donating time and energy to the poor and homeless. From all Henry told me about his background, he lived a full and interesting life. The world is a better place because of Henry Pratt. May he rest in peace.
