M. AILEEN PORTER NIEHUES Aileen peacefully made-Heaven her final home on Sunday, March 30, 2014. She was born January 3, 1919 in Oxnard, California to H.A. & Lucy (Hitch) Bays. She married E.P. (Bid) Porter in Ventura on November 13, 1937 & they were proud parents to daughters Caroline (Roger) Loewen & Donna (Mike) Klobas. Aileen was also a proud grandmother to Dawn (Mike) Mason, Michaelle (Miles) Peacock & Shaun (Jasmine) Klobas; great-grandmother to Josh (Lexie) Mason, Zack (Alison) Mason, Mason Weupe, Brayden & Reese Peacock & Rylan Klobas; as well as a great-great grandmother to Presley Mason. Aileen is also survived by her husband of 11 years, Paul Nieheus & her step-children Nancy (Ralph) Thuemler, Mary (Robert) Ellis, Paulette Foley & Richard (Pam) Niehues as well as Paul's 10 grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters & 2 brothers as well as her son-in-law Mike Klobas. Always a business pioneer, Aileen owned & operated a beauty shop for 16 years in Bayliss & when she relocated to Orland got her real estate license & worked part-time for Sam Boot before she opened her own business in 1973. She completed her last real estate transaction when she was 90. She was proud of being in a partnership that developed & sold the Village Buttes & Pepperwood Subdivisions in Orland & helping with so many family's home purchases. Aileen was appointed to the Glenn Co. Planning Commission for nearly 30 years & the Orland Planning Commission for 2 years. She was an active woman in her community, which she loved & was very proud to have been selected as the Grand Marshall of the Glenn County Fair Parade in 2009. Aileen's service will be held April 9, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Orland Memorial Hall with her burial at the Graves Cemetery following. Arranged b F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary, Orland, CA.
