Margaret Nickerson(1929 - 2014)

MARGARET NICKERSON Margaret Elza Nickerson 84, passed away surrounded by family in Chico, CA on April 9, 2014. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Margaret was born in Calexico, CA on June 27, 1929. She attended schools in Calexico and Santa Ana, CA before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Dr. Richard Franklyn Nickerson , Jr. after World War II. They were married in 1949 and began a family. In 1956, Margaret moved with her family to Stockton, CA to allow her husband to pursue a lucrative medical practice and career that lasted over 50 years. Margaret's passion was raising her children and in later years, working at the office of her husband's medical practice together with her two daughters and other family members. She enjoyed playing piano, traveled extensively worldwide, and supported numerous charities. Margaret is survived by her sons, Richard (Mariella) Nickerson III, Michael (Michele) Nickerson, Brian Nickerson; daughters Wendy (Pete) Gough, Terry (Noel) Cornellier; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Chico, CA on Monday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at the home of Noel and Terry Cornellier.
