SCOTT HARRINGTON Scott Timothy Harrington, 18, passed from our arms into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Scott waged an epic 5-year battle against cancer and influenced many with his unquenchable zest for life. He was completely authentic, totally fearless, and thoroughly engaged in whatever activity he was participating in. Whether he was LARPing, playing computer games with friends, drawing, or simply enjoying his love of reading, Scott was always completely himself. While at Pleasant Valley High School, Scott was involved in numerous activities. He was president of the Anime club, a founding member of the Improv club, and served several years on the high school newspaper, The Saga, including becoming online editor. He recently passed the California High School Proficiency Exam, was accepted to CSU, Chico, and was planning on pursuing a computer graphics degree in the fall. Scott was active in his community as well, performing in several local theater productions even while on chemotherapy treatment. He was a youth leader at Bidwell Presbyterian Church, serving junior high students as well as a member of the AV team. Scott was known as a talented artist, and particularly fond of drawing dragons. A memorial service will be held for Scott at Bidwell Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Wings of Eagles, or the Joseph Alvarez Organization for Seriously Ill Children, in care of Newton-Bracewell Funeral Homes.
