Anita Helene Blech Obituary
ANITA HELENE BLECH February 10, 1931 - December 23, 2013 Anita Helene Blech, 82 of Chico, California, passed away on December 23, 2013 after a brief illness. Anita was born on February 10, 1931 in the town of Augstumal, County of Heydekrug, East Prussia, Germany. She completed her schooling in Germany (what is equivalent to high school diploma). Education was important to her, and she ensured her 7 children received a good education, sending them to private schools, with all 7 completing high school and 6 graduating from college. Anita met her husband on her voyage to America in 1952. He was smitten the first time he laid eyes on her, and had to make the woman with "the voice of an angel" his wife. They were married in March 1953, and spent the next 60 years building a life together. Anita was a homemaker for many years, her family was her focus. She was the epitome of "earth mother" before the term was even coined. Sewing, cooking, baking, growing gardens to feed her family, canning fruits and vegetables, knitting, & crocheting. She worked hard, and yet always found time to nurture and create special memories for her children. She loved her church and felt she was giving to God as she helped at many church activities. Her personal relationship with God was of utmost importance, and she made every effort to pass that on to her children and those she met. She gave much, and never asked for anything in return. Anita is survived by her husband, Reinhold; Brothers: Kurt (Hannah); Heinz (Mary); Herbert (Ruth); Sisters: Ruth (Duane); Helga; Children: Gretchen; Linda (Dave); Helga; Ingrid (Rod); Lenny; Irma (Jim); Reini (Anne); Grandchildren: Nick, Melissa, Natalie, Neal, Ryan, Kevin, Erica, Kirsten, Travis, Michelle, & Lindsey; Great grandchildren: Jordan & Lucas and many loving nieces and nephews. Anita is preceded in death by her parents George & Joanna, and her granddaughter, Jennifer. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to or to the Needy Student Fund at an SDA School of your choice. The family of Anita Blech wishes to thank the Enloe Medical Staff for their assistance and support, and all the love and prayers that have been provided during this difficult time. Funeral services have been held under the direction of Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
