BILL CHAMBERLIN Bill was born in Oakland Ca in 1945 but soon moved to Orland. He attended Orland schools, graduating from Orland High in 1964. He went to Shasta College and then graduated from cosmetology school in San Francisco. Bill entered the Air Force in 1967 and began a lifetime of travel. He was stationed in Pakistan England, and finally in Spain. Upon his discharge he returned to orland for a short time and then to Redding in 1972. Bill left Redding in 1978 to "Travel the Earth". He spent time on a cruise ship in the China Sea, then on to Chicago and finally to Houston. Wherever he went he made lifelong friends. Bill returned to Redding to stay, though his travels never ended. He and Karen were married on April 2,1994 and he had a travel companion and partner for life. Bill and Karen were very active in the community, and he was past president of the State Board of Cosmetology. Bill died suddenly of heart failure on Monday. He leaves behind his wife Karen, son Erik Grotke, father Stan Nordbye and brother Bob Nordbye (Darolyn ). He also leaves nephew Stephen, niece Kiersten Steck (Jered) Ethan and Ainsley, as well as many dear friends. Bill was preceded in death by his brother Jim Chamberlain, his mother Pauline Nordbye, and his sister Susan Levassuer. There is so much more that could be said, but anyone who knows him, knows so much more. Services will be at Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel, 21853 Topland Dr, Palo Cedro, at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23. Gravesite services will be Tuesday, March 26 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery on Co. Rd P in Orland Ca at 10:00 am.
