DARRELL DUENSING Darrell Duensing, 89, passed away at his home December 2, 2013. Born in Chico CA, to Louis and Hazel Duensing August 4, 1924 and graduated from Chico High School. Darrell was a veteran serving with the 155th Engineer Combat Battalion in the Pacific. After the war Darrell went to the Yukon Territory on a mining venture. While there he met his life partner of nearly 60 years Grace Chambers who preceded him in death in 2007. Darrell worked at the government pipeline pump station near Burwash. He owned the Burwash Resort with Leland Allinger for a short time. He and partner Ronnie Holloway owned and worked a mine in the Klondike area for over 30 years. He moved back to his home in Chico in 2005. Darrell was a hard worker taking pride in what he did, generous, honest and straight forward. He enjoyed horseshoes, cribbage, betting and cutting firewood. Preceded in death by his brothers Howard, Eldon and Loren Duensing,and sister June Faunce. Survived by his sister Arlyne Pollett, Orangevale, CA., step-children Kluane Martin, Toots Bouvier, Ronnie, (Merrilee) Chambers of the Yukon and their children and grandchildren, cousin Beverly Chambers of Chico and numerous nieces and nephews.
