JOHN A. "JACK" COULTER John A. Coulter passed away peacefully on February 20, 2013 with his family around him. He was born in Williams, CA on July 9, 1922 to Vern and Henrietta Coulter. He spent most of his life in Chico, CA. He graduated from Chico High School in 1940. John enlisted in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. After he was discharged in 1946, John returned to Chico. He went into the painting business and had the opportunity to help with painting the murals in the Senator and El Rey theaters. In 1950 he went into the family business, Coulter's Transfer and Storage until its closure in 2010. He was a member of the Chico Leland Standford Lodge, Chico Shrine Club, Chico Shrine Mini-Car Club, Ben Ali Shrine in Sacramento and Sacramento Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a 33 Degree Mason, the highest honor. He was also a 15 gallon blood donor with Blood Source- North Valley. John was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Coulter; daughters Karen (Al Gross), Jackie (John Mootz), Lori Coulter and Robin (Ryan Carter); grandchildren Carissa Coulter, Mike, Dan and Joey Goss, Natalie and Jack Carter and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will take place at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home, 680 Camellia Way.
