JOHN J. HUDACEK He was born on Nov. 13, 1913 in Ironwood, Mich. John grew up in a large family with 3 sisters and 5 brothers. After high school, he spent two years in the CCC's prior to joining the Forest Service. He was drafted into the US Army in 1941 and was a proud veteran of WWII and the Korean War. John worked for the U.S. Forest Service starting in 1936 until he retired in 1973. He worked on the Plumas, Shasta-Trinity and Mendocino National Forest in Calif. John lived in Chico, CA for the past 9 years with his wife, Marjorie. Previously they lived in Willows, CA for 43 years, where they raised their children. On January 3, 2013 they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. His life was lovingly shared with his family and friends. John had an active life surrounded by his family. He was always caring for his family and helping others. John enjoyed music, especially the Big Bands and reading. He was a devout Catholic and found comfort in his religion. John died on January 31, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie, and their five children and nine grandchildren: Sue Hudacek, Dave and Debi Hudacek, and their five children, Corbin, Tyler, Natalie, Colin and Blake; Ann Hudacek and Marvin Biasotti, Teresa Hudacek and Filip Bajovic, and their sons, Kosta and Luka; and Mary and Gerald Brownell, and their children, John and Hannah. He is also survived by two brothers, Frank and William. A rosary will be said at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church on Lassen Ave., followed by burial at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Chico, CA.
