RHEA MARGETTS Rhea Marie Margetts, 99. born on October 27, 1914 in Alameda, CA to Martin and Eula Bolts, passed away in her sleep on November 21, 2013 with her great -granddaughter, Michelle Mason, at her side. Rhea moved to Sacramento, CA at the age of six, attended school and graduated from Sacramento Junior College where she belonged to the Como Amiga Club. In 1935, she graduated from the University of California at Berkeley where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Rhea met her husband, Don Usher Margetts, in college and they married in Sacramento on October 17, 1936. At that time they moved to Chico, CA where they were members of the Chico Presbyterian Church and active charter members of N.T. Enloe Memorial Hospital Volunteers. In 1986 months prior to Don & Rhea's 50th wedding anniversary they were preceded in death by their son Jerome (Jerry) Margetts (Carrie), a Chico High School and Chico State graduate who also left behind first wife Marilyn Joyce Bray Bailey. Her husband, Don, passed in 1993. Their daughter, Diane Lampman (Jim) of Gualala, CA passed in 2003. She was most recently preceded in death by her grandson, Eric Lampman, in 2011. She is survived by four grandchildren, Kelly Mason (Brent) of Gualala, CA. Tim Margetts of Chico, Brian Margetts of Galt & Andrea (Art) In Oregon. She is also survived by great- grandchildren Jeremy & Michelle Mason. Katrina, Megan & Jacob Margetts. Bradley&Michael Margetts. Luke, Brittney, Paige & Wade. Sycamore Glenn Active Senior Living in Chico was home to Rhea for over ten years where she was very happy. The last three years of her life she was loved and treated like family at the California Park Rehab Hospital. Rhea was known as a strong woman with a presence about her, even in her last days. She was talented in art and sewing making clothes for many of her family and friends. She knitted baby hats for Enloe Hospital; at last count over two thousand, including the Santa hats for the Christmas babies. Her ashes will be spread at sea near Gualala, CA joining her husband, daughter and grandson. Arrangements were made by the Brusie Funeral Home in Chico, CA. At her request there will be no service.
