CECIL BRAY According to his wishes a private family service is planned to honor a life well lived. Cecil Clinton Bray passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014 in Chico after a brief illness. He was born May 29, 1921 to Alfred & Mary Bray in Chandler, Oklahoma, the youngest of 9 siblings. Cecil served and was discharged from the U.S. Army with honors. He lived in the Paradise and Chico area for the last 75 years. Cecil was an Engineering Manager for Pacific Bell for 39 years. Cecil lived his life serving others with many organizations, some of which include, Enloe Hospital Lifeline Program for 30 years, Blood Source for 20 years, and Butte County Search and Rescue. He was an honorary member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and planned many trips with SIRS (Sons in Retirement). Cecil was well known and well liked. Cecil enjoyed many things including, woodworking, working with leather, radio controlled airplanes, and the outdoors. He also built rocking horses for grandchildren, grandfather clocks and porch swings made from wood of the Hooker Oak tree. He was preceded in death by his wife Darlys, a son Gary and grandson Dean. Cecil is survived by a son Norm (Thelma) Batham, 4 grandchildren, 8 great- grandchildren and 3 great -great grandchildren. Those that wish may make donations to Blood Source in Cecil's name.
