George W. "Dode" Scott Jr. Obituary
GEORGE "DODE" W. SCOTT JR. George W. Scott Jr. passed away Saturday, April 26th peacefully at home, surrounded with love by his wife and sons. Dode was born January 9, 1954 in Honolulu, HI to George W. Sr., and Maydell Moana Scott (Dode is preceded in death by his mother). At an early age the family moved to the hometown of his father, Chico, CA, where Dode attended local schools, graduating from Chico High School in 1972. After high school he worked for a short time as a logger and then joined his father in the scrap recycling busi-ness, Chico Scrap Metal. Dode's skill and repu-tation in shooting pool is second to none. Dode was a life long member and former President of Eagles Lodge Arie 218. He is survived by his wife; Debbi Scott, three sons - Tynan, Derek, Keaton, two grandsons, Ty II and Owen as well as "Dad" to Tory, Nick, Tyler, Natalie, Tony and more; his father George Sr. and step-mom Sheila, siblings Sheila, Kathy, Shane, Kim, (step-brothers) Alfonso Jr., Alejandro, and Larry along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. Dode is also survived by his mother-in-law Martha Durkee and three sisters-in-law, Susan Taras, Karen Durkee & Peggy Hatch, all of New York. At Dode's request there will be a graveside service. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral home, 342-5642. Graveside ser-vices to be held Friday, May 2nd at 2:00 pm, at Glenn Oaks with memorial to follow at the Eagles Hall.
