JUNE SHIRLEY GLIMORE After a two year battle with stroke-related medical issues, our beautiful mother, June Shirley Gilmore, died at home in Orland on Saturday, April 26, 2014. June was born in Richmond, California on May 18, 1926 to Harry and Ethel Gundry. The family moved to Orland in 1943 where June lived the rest of her life. She graduated from Orland High School in 1944 and married Jack Gilmore in 1946. They were married for 60 years until Jack's death In 2006. Over the years June worked at many places including the Golden State Creamery, Valley Irrigation, Bank of America and the Orland Orange Growers. During their retirement years Jack and June made trips in their motorhome through Northern California and Oregon. For their 50th anniversary, they took an Amtrack cross country trip that included Washington D.C. and New York City. June's joys in life were her family, Friday night gatherings, and trips to Reno and Rolling Hills. She also enjoyed being a member of "Just for Children of Glenn County" and the Federated Church Women's Group. She also volunteered at the local Pantry. Survivors include her three daughters Kathy (Louie) Congdon, Bonnie (Chris) Lapp, and Ann Marie (Mike) Merrifield; Sister Gloria Gundry of Concord, Sisters-in-Law Edna Mae Gundry, Genevieve Lavey and Helen Gilmore; Grandchildren Christina von Bargen, Sandy Nethington, Dylan (Krista), Sam (Stephanie) and Jake (Samantha) Lapp, and Luke (Crystal) and Lindsay Merrifield; Great-Grandchildren Kayla Wills, Bailey and Brent von Bargen, Hailee Sanders, Mason and Gabriel Cowan, Christopher, Lincoln and Waylon Lapp, Lainey and Dane Lapp, and Penelope Lapp, and Jayden, Jaxton (Jack), and Jaylee Merrifield and Morgan Hoskey. June is also survived by a wonderful circle of friends and nieces, nephews and relatives too numerous to mention. June was preceded In death by her brother, Charles Gundry. Visitation/viewing is scheduled at F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary in Orland on Sunday, May 4th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Sweet & Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5th A reception will be held following the services at the home of Chris and Bonnie Lapp in Orland. A special thanks to the staff of Enloe Hospice for their love and compassion during mom's final days. Memorial contributions may be made to Just For Children, Orland Volunteer Fire Department, or the Enloe Hospice Program.
