ANNA BEATRICE GEIGER Anna Beatrice Geiger, a 59 year resident of Chico, CA passed away May 3, 2014. She was born in Cotati, CA on June 6, 1923 to George Heckley and Anna Bella Lippe. She moved to Chico in 1955 with her husband George Elmer Geiger and operated Parker Hardware for 23 years before selling the store in 1977. During Anna's time in Chico she served as president of the Business & Professional Women's Club. She loved square dancing and belonged to many dance groups. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ for all who would listen. Anna was a member of First Christian Church and was very active in choir. She worked at the Discovery Shop for the Cancer Society. In later years, she spent many hours caring for the rose garden at Panama House Assisted Living where she resided for eight years until her death. She became an avid San Francisco Giants fan and rarely missed a game with the other ladies at Panama House. Anna is survived by her three children, George (Linda) Geiger of Forest Ranch, CA, William Geiger of Modesto, CA, and Kathryn (Charles) Lundy of Hawaii; and her sister, Lila Steward of Texas. She was the grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother of 17. She was expecting to be a great-great-grandmother in September of this year. Preceding her in death were her husband of 38 years, Elmer; her mother and father; and her brothers Richard and Charles Heckley. She will be interred next to her husband at East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento, CA on Friday May 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM.
