MARILYN KATHLEEN JOLLEY GRAESSER Marilyn Kathleen Jolley Graesser was called from earth on Sept. 9, 2012, surrounded by her husband, children, and best friend, after a valiant battle with cancer. Marilyn was born June 5, 1947 in Hawthorne, NV to Jay and Emma Jolley. She was a blessed gift to her parents, brothers, husband and children. Marilyn spent the last 30 years in Chico active in the insurance industry and the community. She was a partner of Lindo, Hanna & Abbott Insurance (now known as Interwest). She was active in Annie's Star Quilt Guild and was well known throughtout the State of California for her sewing/quilting achievements. Her quick wit and sense of humor were timeless up to the day before she passed. She was known to say often how she loved her children with all of her heart. While she enjoyed her successful career, it was "a means to an end" to ensure the security of her children. She was blessed to have had her husband and partner, John Graesser. They traveled to places she had always dreamed of going. She is preceded in death by her father, Jay Jolley; brother, Charles (Chuck) Jolley; and grandson, Grant Ravenstad. Marilyn is survived by her husband, John Graesser; mother, Emma Jolley; brother, Richard Jolley (Carol); daughter, Jaye Lynn Ravenstad (Roger); son, Carl Grant Peterson; grandchildren, Devin Peterson, Alex Ravenstad, Tyler Peterson, Anders Ravenstad, Aaron Ravenstad and Summer Brooks. Her relatives and friends were many. Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church. A reception will be immediately following at La Hacienda Restaurant in Chico, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
