BEATRICE J. HILL Beatrice J. Hill passed away on March 6th, 2013 in Chico, California at age 94. Beatrice was born September 7th, 1918 in Columbus, Ohio to Harford P. and Grace D. Jenks. She attended schools in Columbus and graduated from The Ohio State University in Business Administration. She also received a degree from The New York School of Interior Design. She worked as an Interior Designer in Charleston, WV and Santa Rosa, CA where she had her own business. Beatrice was married to George W. Steahly who preceded her in death in July of 1961. She was married to Philip H. Hill in Charleston, WV from 1965 until his death in 1978. She was active in the PEO Sisterhood, the Assistance League of Santa Rosa and was a benefactor of the Enloe Hospital in Chico. She was a master bridge player and volunteered to numerous organi-zations throughout her life. She is survived by her 5 children: Carolyn Crews (Jim) of Chico, Judith Dixon-Jenks of Columbus, Joyce Broglio (Dennis) of Charleston, Linda Steahly of Bend, OR and Charles Steahly (Cindy) of Medford, OR. She was preceded in death by her step-son Philip B. Hill of Shepherdstown, WV and she is survived by her step-daughter, June Hill Peck of Charleston. She has 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 10:45am at Sierra Sunrise Terrace 2750 Sierra Sunrise Terrace in Chico.
