PINA HAMMOND Giuseppina (Pina) Taddonio Hammond, 54 of Chico CA died on April 4, 2013. Pina was born in Turin Italy September 29, 1958, grew up, went to school, then went to work in the Turin Fiat Factory. In her twenties, Pina left with a few friends to travel the world. She went to many places in North Africa, Asia, South America, and Europe. Pina gave birth to her first born, Cristina, in Nepal at a missionary base, having been told that they would be likely to help her there. A few months later, on Christmas day, Pina gave her life to Christ at that same missionary base (YWAM--Youth with A Mission Kathamandu, Nepal). Pina became a missionary with YWAM, first in Spain, then in Italy. Pina met and married another YWAM mission-ary, Bill Hammond. Her second born, Sophia was born in Italy. The Hammond family moved to Denver where Joel was born. Pina bragged with a smile, "I gave birth in three different continents." After becoming a US citizen Pina became a chef, and the hospitality coordinator for her church, Bidwell Presby-terian Church. Her gift was hospitality, and she loved to prepare meals for others. She prayed every week with "Moms in Prayer International" for schools kids, teachers, and administrations throughout Chico. Pina was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Cristina Taddonio. Pina is survived by brother, Vittorio Taddonio of Turin, Italy; husband, Bill Hammond of Chico, CA; children, Cristina Taddonio of Nashville, TN, and Sophia and Joel Hammond of Chico, CA. Memorial services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tues., April, 9, 2013 at Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Bidwell Memorial Presby-terian Church Missions Fund, in care of the Newton-Bracewell Chico Funeral Home.
