JERROLD CHOATE Jerry, age 70, passed peacefully on March 24th. Born in Oakland on May 8, 1942 to Glen and Ruth Choate. He was a 1960 graduate of Albany High School and served in the Army from 1967-1969. In 1975 he married Judy Rice and settled in her hometown of Chico. Jerry worked as a bookkeeper and credit manager and retired in 2009. An accordion player since the age of 8, Jerry played throughout northern California, both solo and with his band, The Treble Makers. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jeff. He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Stacey Knowles of Gresham, Oregon, son Brian Choate (Lindsey) of Plumas Lake, sister Judy Stoyko (Rich) of Hayward, three grandchildren Brittney Sheffield, Caden and Cody Choate and niece, Christy Alford and nephew, Jason Choate. Memorial service will be held Friday, April 12th at 2:00 at Butte Bible Fellowship, 2255 Pillsbury Road. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to .
