ROLANDE "MICKEY" BREISACHER Rolande "Mickey" Madeleine Breisacher, 92, suffered a stroke in 2011 and passed peacefully July 6, 2013. She was born March 10, 1921 to Roland Goetz, a U.S. soldier, and Marie Goetz, a French citizen, in Le Mans, France. They moved to the U.S. when she was two, where her sister, Evelyn, was born. Mickey went to Central Catholic High in Toledo, Ohio. While serving as an Army WAC from 1943-1946, she worked at the Pentagon and enjoyed traveling to New York as a military escort for returning vets. In 1947 she married Wilbert Breisacher, also an Army Veteran, and raised five children. They were married for forty-eight years until his death in 1995. The family started out in Toledo, OH, later moving to Los Gatos, CA in 1963 and finally settling in Chico in 1991. Over the years she had numerous jobs, including running her own small restaurant. For eighteen years she was a caregiver to her husband, who suffered a stroke, and to her ninety-nine year old mother. Mickey loved her family, her country and her church. She loved to keep abreast of current affairs. She had a great sense of humor, keen insight and wit, always giving kind words of wisdom to those around her. Mickey was a prolific reader, who loved words, language and books. She led a selfless life, devoted to doing good and being a tireless support to her family. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Mickey is survived by four children, James, William, Marceil and Janice; five grandchildren, Amber, Elena, Galen, Jordan and Sarah; two nieces, Tina and Teri; and five great grandchildren. Services will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Inurnment will be at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
