Stanley Wayne Weaver Obituary
STANLEY WAYNE WEAVER Stanley Wayne Weaver, 86, passed away from natural causes August 19, 2013. Born February 8, 1927 in Glendale, CA. His parents were Hugh and Ramona Weaver. Stan joined the Navy and served twice, including World War II on the USS Yancey, and during the Korean War. Upon one of his leaves, he met the love of his life Lucille, and they were married shortly thereafter in Eureka, CA on April 8, 1948. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Letsinger Weaver of 65 years, three children; Fred of Sutter Creek, Rebecca of Antelope, and Angela of Temple, TX; three grandchildren, and three great grandchildren (with one more on the way). All who knew him, loved him. Early in his career, Stan made a living out of his passion for outboard boating by being part owner in O.N.E. Outboards in Eureka. He then took a position with multiple grocery retailers, including Wentz, Miller Markets, Purity, and later Holiday markets. Whether in Eureka, Susanville, Chico or Paradise, he loved talking with his customers and enjoyed seeing his regulars. Known as "Stan the Man" by so many, his bright smile and blue eyes brightened up the day of many. Stan loved his hobbies including boating, motorcycles, private pilot flying, model airplanes, remote control cars, the 49ers, flying kites at Hooker Oak park, raising pigeons, talking on the HAM radio, and so much more. He enjoyed traveling to Texas and sported a 49er jacket as he stood on the Dallas Cowboy's Texas Star. Later in life, he switched from a motorcycle to a motorized cart, to be frequently seen in Safeway working on crossword puzzles with his friends. On a deep note, Weaver was a dedicated member of Jehovah's Witnesses, being baptized in July of 1975 in Reno, NV. His passion for the faith was unwavering over the years, and he participated in meetings even when to do so meant only to do so by phone. Services will be at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 10 Honeyrun Road, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 24, 2013. To view or send condolences go online to NewtownBracewell.com
