ARTHUR H. WARNKE Arthur H. Warnke passed away peacefully at home in Chico on October 28th, 2013. Art was born on September 9, 1937 in Burley Idaho to Harry and Lorena Warnke. He attended University of Idaho, Moscow, where he met and married Janet L. Barbor. After graduation, the young couple moved to Fort Lee VA, where Art was a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Art first moved to Chico to work at Montgomery Wards and returned later as branch manager for Bank of America, North Valley Plaza. Life's path took him back to his native Idaho. After the death of his wife Jan, Art reconnected with long time friend Dona Garrison and returned to Chico a 3rd time to enjoy retirement and good times with many old and new friends. Art loved golf, was an active member of the Elks Lodge and enjoyed many trips with the RVers. Art was preceeded in death by his son Kirk in 2005. Art is survived by best gal Dona Garrison, daughters Darrin Fuller and Terri (Charlie) Main, grandchildren Shayn (Shinya) Fuller, Tory Moore, Billy (Eva) Main and Kelly Main. A celebration of Art's life will be held on November 11, from 2-7 at Dona and Art's home, 2173 North Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made Enloe Hospice, who provided amazing care and comfort during Art's illness.
