MARCO ANTONIO RAMOS Marco Antonio Ramos passed away suddenly on June 23, 2015 in Sacramento, CA, he was 52. Marco came from Mexico to the United States to pursue his dream of becoming a restaurateur. He worked for and was guided by his cousins, Jaime, Pepe, Hector and Polo Ramos, working his way up from dishwasher to manager in their Azteca restaurants. After hard work and determination, he opened his first Casa Ramos restaurant in 1997 in Yreka, CA, expanding his operation to 12 additional locations where he became a popular and beloved "Patron" to his many employees. One of the high points in his life was when he became a US Citizen in 2013, something he cherished and valued. Marco possessed a heart of gold, was a friend to all and never turned his back on a person in need. Known for his nurturing nature, if invited to his home for one of his spectacular meals, you were doted on, treated like royalty, and encouraged to stay forever. His playful and generous disposition made traveling with him fun and exciting, making it his mission to see that you were having the time of your life. Marco possessed a charm that would win you over and pull you in which made you feel as though you were the only person that mattered. He was proud of many things, but mostly proud of his three children, Kevin, Alexis and Kaelee. In the end, when you remove all the trappings of life, he was just a boy from Mexico who wanted to sell a few tacos, love his family and friends and realize the American Dream. He is survived by his three children, his parents, Justino and Heleodora Ramos; his siblings, Blanca, Maria, Beatriz, Bertha, Leticia, Claudia and Ricardo; his four cousins, and his long - time partner, Michelle Hill. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Marriott Rancho Cordova, CA 95742, open to family, friends, employees and loyal customers.
