Rick Cinquini Obituary

RICK CINQUINI On Monday, April 10, 2017, Rick Cinquini, touched by the hand of God, "slipped the surly bonds of Earth" on his final journey home. Rick was born on June 26, 1955 to Harry and Marie Cinquini. Rick attended Notre Dame Catholic School and graduated from Chico High School in 1973. He attended Butte College and CSU, Chico. A lifetime farmer, like his parents, at the age of 20, Rick managed over 800 acres of tree and row crops in Tehama and Butte County for George Stutz. Rick, while managing the Morehead Ranch in Chico, began his custom orchard and vineyard development along with an irrigation installation business. Rick also worked for many years on repara-tion projects with Sacra-mento River Partners and the CSU, Chico Research Foundation, clearing and returning native plant species to the river and local creek beds in Tehama and Butte Counties. Rick was a strong advocate for the farming community. He served on the California Water Commission, the Dry Bean Advisory Board, He was one of the original Authors of the Chico Area Green Line (a county initiative to pre-serve vital Agricultural land from development), he served on board of directors for North State Hulling Cooperative, Northern California Farm Credit, Friends of Ag- Chico High School. In 2009, Rick received the Ag Service Award, a Certificate of Special Congressional Recogni-tion. His commitment, generosity and support extended to other community projects and organizations such as Chico Unified School District, Parkview Ele-mentary School field replant and irrigation system along with landscaping and Media equipment for the Spanish Immersion Pro-gram; Installation of the Chico Junior High School's perimeter out-door running track; Chico High Schools Ground work in various sports fields, donation of custom made Basketball team seating, and was a Sports Booster Gold Member. He was an original member of the Friends of Ag and made many donations. For decades Rick has been an active member of the "CARTEL", an organi-zation of farmers and local businesses sup-porting the Junior Livestock Auction at the Silver Dollar Fair. Rick married the love of his life and best friend, Pamela, in 1987. Rick and Pamela, along with their children, Rhett, Whitney and Kristina were always together farming. Rick had a passion for life. He loved his family, his friends, his animals and farming. He absolutely loved to laugh! He woke every morning with the sun and a smile on his face. Rick never met a stranger, and was always eager to help anyone in need. He believed in God, his country, the love of his family, a strong work ethic and personal accountability. Rick wanted to leave the world a better place than he found it, and instilled that contagious zest for life and doing what is right in his family. Rick along with his brother Ron, enjoyed equipment auctions, equipment fabrication, working together on projects and of course, lunch. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Pamela, his oldest daughter, Kristina (Tyler), his son Rhett (Jamie), and his youngest daughter and "shadow" Whitney (JR); his two pups- his beloved Bo, and Magnum; his mother Marie; sister Joan (George) Wing, sister Carol Cinquini-Leatherman (Mark Sigler); and brother Ron (Wendy); eleven nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. I am very sad to hear of Rick's passing. I supplied Rick with bees for his orchards for over 35 years. I always enjoyed the visits and the lunches we had together. He did like to laugh. I hope the family is doing well.

I was shocked and saddened when I heard of Mr. Cinquini's passing. I remember birthday parties and soccer games with his son and friends, and being able to explore their farm, seeing and learning many things. Most of all, I remember and recognized (even as a kid) a man who had the utmost dedication to his family, to his work and to his community. He had all the qualities of a truly upstanding gentleman. Rest in peace, Rick. Thoughts to you and your family.

I am sorry for your loss. I love hearing how a person loved doing things outside and cultivated the earth.
Very soon Rick will be able enjoy what the Bible says
"The righteous will posses the earth, And they will live forever upon it." - Ps 37:29
May prayer comfort you.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 "Pray constantly."May the God of all comfort be with you during this difficult time. -

Although I did not know Rick personally, I know his daughter, Whitney. Whitney and my daughter; Clarisa ,participated in the Spanish immersion program as well Girl Scouts together. Whitney"s mom, Pam, was one of the Girl Scout troop leaders. It was very sad to hear of Rick"s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
I will never forget the day when this little six year old girl named Whitney looked up at my husband and started speaking to him in Spanish as if it were her first language; so adorable. I also remember Whitney and Clarisa"s First Holy Communion; I still have a picture of them embrassing on that very special day; again absolutely adorable. Thank you Rick for all your good works, and also for your beautiful family. Your legacy will be carried on through your family. God bless

We send our condolences to the entire Cinquini family. I remember Rick driving up and down Rodgers Ave over the years. He always had a smile and wave. Yes, most of those memories he was driving the white and purple truck. Always pleasant to talk to and had a great sense of humor. Just thinking of Rick puts a smile on your face. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
