Bonnie Lou Haeussner, 72, of Chiefland died May 4, 2014 at the Suncoast Hospice Care Center of Mid-Pinellas surrounded by family.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, but moved to Florida as a child. For the last 32 years, she called Chiefland home.
Bonnie was a devoted wife of 43 years to her late husband, Ed Haeussner. High school sweethearts, they were married in 1960 in St. Petersburg. She was a homemaker and a retired CNA at Ayers Health & Rehab Center in Trenton. She enjoyed reading, gardening and caring for her pets. Young at heart, she cherished her grandchildren and was always the first to awake excitedly on Christmas morning.
Bonnie is survived by her children, Bill Haeussner, Rita Antone, Regina Kavanagh and Eddie Haeussner; her sisters, Connie Blake and Grace Woodby; her brothers, Allonnie and James Cooke and by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who all love and miss her very much.
In addition to her husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Violet Carns Lopez and George Barker and by her brother, Donald Lewis.
In accordance with her wishes, a beach party and celebration of her life was held at Fort De Soto Park May 12. Her ashes were scattered in the surf and drifted off with the tide.
Those wishing to honor Bonnie are encouraged to donate to a local animal shelter in her memory.
