Essielene Geiger Henderson, 93, of Chiefland passed away Feb. 25, 2014 at Haven Hospice surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Henderson was born to William Zack Geiger and Lula Jesse Cox Geiger in Chiefland Sept. 2, 1920 where she remained all her life.
Mrs. Henderson was a long time member of the Chiefland Church of Christ where she served as Sunday School Teacher for many years.
She was a loving mother and true Southern homemaker, making the home very special for her family. Mrs. Henderson enjoyed not only keeping a well maintained home, but also fishing, traveling and gardening.
Her family, home and church gave her the most enjoyment in life. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by her son, H.C Henderson Jr. of Chiefland; daughter, Betty (Wayne) Henderson Dicks of Lake City and brother, Bill Geiger of Chiefland, as well as nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and six great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Matthews; son, Billy Gene Henderson; granddaughter, Robin Lynn Henderson; siblings, Estelle Sache and Rube Geiger; daughter in-law, Alice Faye Henderson and her loving husband, Hillary C. Henderson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Chiefland Church of Christ in Chiefland with funeral service following at 11 a.m. at the church. Officiating will be ministers Tommy Andrews and Al Sandlin.
