Faye Irene Sache, 70, of Chiefland passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at Ayers Health and Rehab in Trenton.
Faye was born March 9, 1948 to Porter J. and E. Josephine Sache. She was a graduate of Chiefland High School, Lake City Community College and the University of West Alabama where she majored in Biology.
Upon returning home to the family farm where she was raised outside of Chiefland, she embarked on a career as a biology/chemistry teacher for 36 years at Chiefland High School.
Faye was on a national poultry judging team in 1965 for 4H and FFA and coached state winning poultry judging. She coached tennis and was a cheerleader and Beta Club sponsor. She was also known for being the best cake maker in the tri-county area and enjoyed making cakes for fundraisers, school and charitable functions and friends and family.
She is survived by her sisters, Donna (Billy) Leggett and Portia Sache; brother, Wesley (Debi) Sache; nephews, Leslie "Tater" Keene, Porter Leo Sache, Jake (Tiffany) Sache, Seth (Morgan) Sache, Darrell Norris and Cason Nessmith; great-nephew, Kade Sache and great-nieces, Avery, Emmalee, Sadie and Weslyn Sache.
Faye was preceded in death by her brother, Porter "Buddy" Sache Jr.
A service was held Monday, April 30 at the Hardeetown Baptist Church in Chiefland with Pastor Jamie Brock officiating.
In lieu of flowers please make donations were made Class of 1966 Memorial Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 1476, Chiefland, FL 32644.
