Frank Jessup Buie, 86, of Chiefland, died Aug. 5, 2013.
He served his country in WWII.
Survivors include a son, David Jones and a daughter, Beverly Buie, both of Orlando; two children he raised as his own, Mary Bowers of Chiefland and Franklin (Shirley) Shuler of Bronson; sisters, Caretha Nelson and Eddie Jean Williams; brothers, Leon (Betty) Buie of Chiefland, Ellic (Ruby) Buie of Winter Haven and Will (Joyce) Buie of Gainesville; sisters-in-law, Ollie Mae Buie, Margaret Buie, Joyce Buie and Ida Goldwire; four godchildren, Richard A. Williams, Patricia Thomas, Melvina Williams and Tammy Mooney.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Light House Word Church, 2450 Northwest Highway ALT 27, Chiefland. Interment will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery.
The visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 16 from 5-7:30 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 310 SW 5th St, Chiefland.
Services are under the professional care of Carnegie Funeral Home, Chiefland.
