Lettie M. Roberts, 70, of Trenton, died Nov. 1, 2012 in Gainesville.
She was born Aug. 10, 1942 to Henry and Allene Melvin in Fayetteville, N. C.
She moved to Trenton 26 years ago coming from Gainesville. She was of the Baptist faith and belonged to the Bronson Road Baptist Church where she was very active in the church. Many years ago she worked with the Department of Agriculture as a senior clerk and she was also certified in Search and Rescue. She loved to hunt, fish, work on crafts and every year she volunteered at the Steinhatchee Fishing Tournament.
She was preceded in death by her bothers, Joe Melvin, John R. Melvin and William W. Melvin; her sisters,Edith Snyder and Dorothy Hobbs.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Freeman Roberts; her sons, Buddy (Dani) Byrne, Earl Byrne; her daughters, Karen Byrne, Barbara (Frankie) Batie; her stepdaughters, Teresa Riggs, Connie (Butch) Conley, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Long; her brother, Eugene (Betty) Melvin; her sister, Latricia (Raymond) Greneer; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.
There will be a memorial service held in her honor Nov. 17 at Bronson Road Baptist Church at 10 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Andy Cook.
