Lonnie L. Goodson of Bronson, 90, of Bronson passed away Thursday,?Dec. 11 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville.
He was born at Port St. Joe but had lived in Bronson for many years.
He was a heavy equipment operator for International Paper Co. before retirement. He was a member of Bronson First Baptist Church and was a deacon in the church for more than 50 years.
He served during WWII fighting in the European theatre. He enjoyed fellowshiping with fellow servicemen in Bronson-Levy County.
Family and his church were paramount in his life. He enjoyed gardening, feeding his birds and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Linnie; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Burke, Patricia Lee Goodson and Gail Yancy; sister, Evelyn "Mottie" Deuel; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 15 at the First Baptist Church in Bronson with Major James officiating. Burial followed in the Bronson Cemetery.
Knauff Funeral Home, Williston, was in charge of arrangements.
