Patsy M. Underwood, 75, of Chiefland, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ Feb. 25, 2014 at Haven Hospice of the Tri Counties.

She was born in Nashville, Ga. to the late James Fountain 'Dock' and Eunie (Tyson) Mathis Nov. 3, 1938. Mrs. Underwood moved to the Chiefland in 1955 from Lakeland, Ga. She retired from the City of Chiefland and was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and cooking but above all, serving her Lord and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alston Lee and JoAnn (Efferen) Hardee of Chiefland; daughter and son-in-law Deborah Anne and Walker Bassett of Perry; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Malorie (Sheppard) and Ben Lowe and grandson, Caleb Dalton Hardee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Underwood; her parents; six brothers and six sisters; Callie Weathering, Carrie Roland Montnuri, Edna Baisond, Mattie Goss, Curtis Mathis, Zonnie Buckhalter, Marcus Mathis, Thomas Mathis, Retha Crosby, William Jerry Mathis, James Mathis and Rob Mathis.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 2 at 2 p.m. at Hardeetown Baptist Church of Chiefland with Pastor Tom Keisler officiating. Interment will follow at the Hardeetown Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 1 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
