Phillip Kenneth (P.K.) Beck, 73, of Chiefland and Bell, died Friday, May 31, 2013.

He was born Sept. 27, 1939 in Dothan, Ala. to the late Arnold and Emma Beck.
He attended Gulf Hammock School and Chiefland High School, graduating with the class of 1957. He was salutatorian of that class, played on Chiefland's first 11-man football team and was State President of the Future Farmers of America.
He attended the University of Florida receiving a degree injournalism and communication and was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He graduated from the Mercer University School of Law, Macon, Ga., where he was a national officer of the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association.
He is survived by a son, Phillip (Nelena) Beck of Chiefland; Shannon (Kyle) Studley, LaBelle; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Cynthia (Hank) Terechenok of Chiefland and a brother, Chuck (Ivelisse) Beck of Annapolis, Md.
A visitation with friends and family will be held Friday, June 14 from 1-7 p.m. at the Concord Baptist Church fellowship hall, 5551 NW County Road 336, Chiefland, FL 32626.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the missionary family of Cesar & Edie Vega, ministering with The Navigators Christian Ministry, P.O. Box 6000, Colorado Springs, CO 80934. Checks should be made to that organization with memo: For Cesar Vega - acct: 57117.
