Wilbur C. Fugel, 102 years old of Englewood died June 8, 2013 at Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton.

Wilbur was born in Perth Amboy, N.J. July 29, 1910. He resided in New Jersey before moving to Camden, Maine in 1950. After his retirement as a painting contractor in Old Saybrook, Conn. in 1976, he moved to Florida where he spent time in Barefoot Bay, Chiefland and Suwannee.
A 32-degree mason, Mr. Fugel was a 70-year member of the Mt. Zion Lodge #135 in Metuchen, N.J. He was a Shriner in the Valley of Hartford Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Newington, Conn.; Azan Temple of greater Melbourne, Sebastian and the Suwannee River Shrine Club of Fanning Springs. Mr. Fugel was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Chiefland.
Surviving are one son, Dale (Paula Lannigan) Fugel of Englewood and one daughter, Linda (Fugel) Chapman of Old Town; six grandchildren; a step-grandchild and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fugel was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Oertel) of 52 years in 1990 and a sister, Claire (Fugel) Cuddy of Highland Park, N.J. and a brother, George B. Fugel of Edison, N.J.
A memorial service will be held in Maine at a later date.
