Dr. William J. Mott, 66, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 after a battle with cancer.
Mr. Mott was born Sept. 2, 1947 in Port Jefferson, N.Y. to Charles William Mott and Florence Earhart Mott.
Dr. Mott was a loving and devoted family man. He loved spending time with family and friends. He would plan birthday parties, holiday events and travel with the family. Always encouraging them to plan big, achieve as much as you can, and of course, get the highest level of education to live out your dreams. His motto was, "work hard-play hard". He passed on his faith in Christ and family values to all his family.
He was also a devoted and compassionate physician. He felt blessed to serve his community and their medical needs. Through "The Country Doctors Office" and many other venues, he was able to help many people. Whether you were a nursing home patient or a friend he ran into in town; you could be sure he would greet you with a smile, a great story, or just some good conversation. He will be missed by many. Dr. Mott was also able to serve his country through military service in both the U.S. Navy as well as the U.S. Army, receiving honorable discharges in both.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Mott of Newberry; his daughters, Laura, Jenifer, Danielle, Allisia and Katherine; sons-in-law, Aaron and Mike; 13 grandchildren, as well as an extensive family and friends.
Per Dr. Mott's request, there will be no memorial service. Please, just remember him as he was and know now he is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
