Elsie A. Myers, 83, of Chiefland, passed away on March 29, 2013 at Tri-County Nursing Home in Trenton.

She was born in Miami to the late Hobart and Bertha (Claypool) Miller Nov. 1, 1929. She moved to Levy County in 1995 from Cutler Ridge.
Mrs. Elsie was a Charter Member of Turning Point Ministry in Chiefland. She was a homemaker, but also was a substitute school teacher for the Dade County School System for 10 years. She was a quilter and helped to organize and build the Quilt Museum. She enjoyed sewing but above all, it was her family and serving her Lord that gave her the most enjoyment in life.
She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Jean (Greg) Scott of Peachtree City, Ga.; sons, Charles Lawrence Myers of Chiefland, Dwight Richard (Sandy) Myers of South Dakota and William Russell (Nora) Myers of Homestead and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Richard Myers, Sr.
Memorial services for Mrs. Myers were held April 10 at Turning Point Ministry with the Rev. Kent Zimmermann officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donation in Elsie's name be made to Turning Point Ministry, P.O. Box 2440, Chiefland, FL 32644-2440.
