Betty June Matthews Sims, 76, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2013 at her residence.
Betty was born Oct. 13, 1936 in Trenton to Lester Matthews and Myrtie Colson Matthews. She was a lifelong resident of the area, a homemaker and she attended the Suwannee River Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorece Fowler.
She is survived by her husband, Cecil R. Sims Sr. of Trenton; daughters, Kathy McCain of Cedar Key, Donna Jones, Jenelle Shelton and Lorrie Perkins, all of Chiefland; sons, Eldon Sims of Cedar Key, Ray Sims, Leo Sims and Mark Sims, all of Chiefland; sisters, Imogene Yates of Sanford and Sharon Bachle of Tallahassee; brothers, Edsel Matthews of Monticello, Donald Matthews and Johnny Matthews both of Longview, Texas and Gerald Matthews of Chiefland; 26 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Watson Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Lindsey officiating.
