Elma B. Reeder
CHILLICOTHE: Elma Bell Reeder, 93, of Chillicothe, died 3:45 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 in Serenity Haven Nursing Home, Frankfort following an extended illness.
She was born on August 25, 1919, in Knox County, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Grace Metcalf Bell. She was predeceased by her husband, Edson A. Reeder and a sister, Pauline Underwood.
Surviving are a son, Douglas Bell Reeder, D.M.A., of Chillicothe, and a daughter and son-in-law, Ila and Fred Ph.D. Maxwell, of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; grandchildren Christina Goodwin of Lithopolis, Ohio, Jonathan Maxwell, Heather Cruice, and Lauren Heppeard , all of Greenville, South Carolina; great grandchildren Cameron and Cailyn Goodwin, Ashton and Skye Cruice, and Leila Maxwell.
Elma worked at Mead Corporation and Chillicothe VA Medical Center, retiring in 1989. She taught piano lessons and baked award winning pies which she entered at the Ross County and Ohio State Fairs. Elma had attended Chillicothe Bible Church and Liberty Baptist Church. In the past several years she suffered from Alzheimer's disease which prevented her from fully enjoying family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Brian Evans of Grace Community Church, Waverly and Jeff McKinney, of Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call at Ware's from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.

Iam sorry to hear of Mrs. Reeders passing. I have fond memories of when my brother & I took piano lessons from her in Chillicothe many years ago. She was such a patient piano teacher. I pray that God will be with you in your great time of need.
